I don't understand the hate on the FoST all of a sudden. The RS is too expensive for the target market, the fiesta is too small, and it's still rightly quick.

Also the WRX is more expensive than the FoST.

They are all great cars really.

You're not worng. I was down to an FoST or WRX hatch when I was car shopping, and the interior of the FoST was just a nicer place to be for a lower cost. I got my ST fully loaded minus sun roof for $25k before TTL, a WRX with half the features? At least 2k more, and a scoob with equal features? Yeah that's like $30k.

Yup, I didn't even get to test driving a WRX because of the price. I was under $20k on my FoST. A bit bare bones, but that's what I wanted.

I couldn't get a GTI or a WRX for near that brand new.

Whatevs, my ST was cost effective and if I want to go even faster I'll grab an FRPP, some suspension bits, and brakes and still come in under what I would have paid for the others.

I own both, ad would say that they are better at different things. The ST is te better daily and all arounder for sure, but for autocross, or a weekend out in a senic area with twisty roads, I'll take the miata every time.

I love mine. And I can't justify the RS for rumored pricing, I still think it will be competitive sales-wise.

I didn't test one at a dealer either because they wanted to run a credit check on me before they allowed it. Yeah no, I'm coming in with 10k to plop down on a car in addition to my trade in and you want to pull that shit on me? Piss the hell off. Test drove on the belonged to a friend, and I will say that if I was going to be tracking it, I'd have gone subaru, it's just a faster car. However, it's my DD, not a track slut, so I'll go with the one with better option, most of the power, and lower cost.

Yeah, just not in my price range.

Also, MPG's. The WRX won't hit ST MPG's, though the GTI will. The RS definitely won't.

hell I'm lucky to hit 22 combined mpg. Need to get a new tune, mine is pretty rich.

I hit 26 combined, and when it's all highway I get 28-32. In the winter months it's been closer to 28 because it sits and warms up for a while.

I've had highway stints averaging 33mpg though.
